Small Moments

A collection of poems on the small, simple moments of life.

“Small Moments 1”

The sweet smell of the breath

Coming from his nostrils

Let her know

He was alive

And he was real.

“Small Moments 2”

Happiness

Is

A peppermint stick

In your coffee

In the fall.

“Small Moments 3”

Her hips leaned against the counter tops.

He pulled her in,

And their lips met

In the singular beam of sunlight

Angling through the kitchen window.

Caught in the photo flash

Of the universe,

Their love was sealed

Forever.

“Small Moments 4”

His kiss rooted her legs

Like tree trunks into the ground,

Her toes spreading out

Like vast roots

Under the parking lot cement.

“Small Moments 5”

She felt her radiance

Produce a subtle charm

In the low light of the bar,

With glasses clinking,

Honey hair shining,

And wide eyes glowing.

“Small Moments 6”

Never forget to delight in the little things,

Like wildflowers found on rainy afternoon walks.
